BIOTRONIK and Cardiology Experts Support Heartbeat International in Top Education
Company Links Heartbeat International with Globally Celebrated Cardiologists for Scientific Symposium at this Year’s Interamerican Congress of Cardiology
LAKE OSWEGO, Oregon and SANTIAGO, Chile, December 4 2015, BIOTRONIK, a leading manufacturer of cardio- and endovascular medical technology, will put its charity partner Heartbeat International (HBI) on the world stage of cardiology education at the 25th Interamerican Congress of Cardiology (ICC) in Santiago, Chile.Some of the most renowned cardiology experts in the Americas will join HBI at a symposium entitled “Advancement in Cardiac Rhythm Management.” Speaking ahead of the event, where he will address the audience on advancements in catheter-based ablation, Dr. Larry Chinitz, the Alvin Benjamin and Kenneth Coyle, Sr. Family Professor of Medicine and Cardiac Electrophysiology, Department of Medicine, at NYU Langone Medical Center said: “I’m very much looking forward to this unique educational program, which will feature an acclaimed faculty and focus on educating leaders in the field about the treatment of patients with cardiac rhythm disorders.”Since 1984, the non-profit humanitarian organization HBI has implanted cardiac devices for disadvantaged patients in developing countries. Since 2010, BIOTRONIK has donated the vast majority of these lifesaving devices—over 5,600 in total. This year alone, the partnership is on track to save 500 lives. BIOTRONIK has furthered its support by funding the recently opened HBI Heart Center in the Dominican capital of Santo Domingo.
